How is the CS 3700 shade matching different?

The CS 3700 collects more colour data than competitive systems as it obtains color information from several views.

Other scanners measure colour from a single view and, therefore, select a single texture from the scanned dataset and assign the shade using an RGB (red, green, blue) color match.

Since RGB only provides three color values, this limits the amount of information provided for the shade match and might affect the accuracy of the shade match.

Additionally, since the scanner is forced to select a single view, it cannot compensate for changes in the direction of light, making most of the texture ineligible for shade selection.
